NHS - Consultation on the wider use of patient information

NHS Connecting for Health is conducting a consultation with the public and healthcare professionals on the use of patient information for purposes such as health research and managing and planning care. It is keen to obtain the views of the general public, patients and other interested parties on how patient information held by the NHS should be used for additional purposes such as research.
DVLA - Consultation on drivers’ fees

The slowing economic climate has brought a sharp decrease – about 16% - in the number of fee-bearing transactions at the DVLA, causing a loss of income of about £21 million. Although the DVLA can take some cost-cutting measures, they will not be sufficient to cover this loss in full. The DVLA is therefore seeking to increase its fees. The consultation paper sets out three options for changes to the fee structure.
FSA - Consultation on regulating retail banking conduct of business

The FSA is reviewing its arrangements for regulating the conduct of business of retail banking (the sale of current and savings accounts and credit products) in order to improve its regulatory effectiveness.
BERR - Consultation on the EU Proposal for a Consumer Rights Directive

In October, the European Commission published a proposal for a new Consumer Rights Directive. The Consumer Rights Directive would repeal four existing European consumer Directives - the Doorstep Selling Directive, the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Directive, the Distance Selling Directive and the Consumer Sales and Guarantees Directive - and replace them with a single Directive. On 10 November, BERR published a consultation on the EU proposals.
